Cuba to Participate in 2015 Exhibition in Milan

The Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba confirmed the island’s attendance to the Milan 2015 Exhibition, to be held next year from May 1st through October 31 in that Italian city.The meeting will allow the island to show its advances in terms of food security, in an exhibition where every five years several nations presenting their social policies and results on topics of great interest for the planet converge.

Executives of the Chamber of Commerce told the press that the Cuban pavilion will occupy an area of 250 square meters.

Miriam Martinez, Director for Fairs of the institution, pointed out that Cuba will also present in Milan projects to increase agricultural and livestock productions and improve their distribution, and highlighted the interest in sharing with other nations the experiences of Cuban cooperatives and farmers in their eagerness to obtain better levels of efficiency to guarantee food for the population.

In a meeting with members of the Italian embassy to Havana and members of the Italy-Cuba Business Committee it was explained that other topics to be tackled will be the possibilities the priority opening of this sector to foreign investment will bring to national food production.

Italy’s ambassador to Cuba, Carmine Robustelli, said that the Exhibition can offer numerous opportunities for cooperation to the island, which described as important protagonist of world debates on social policy.
