On the occasion of the Dominican Culture Week in Cuba, the virtuoso guitarist Juan Francisco Ordoñez and the writer and actor Freddy Ginebra will perform along with Victor Victor on February 23 in the Che Guevara room of Casa de las Américas.
The artists will perform in the show El Canta, yo Cuento (He sings, I tell) and two days later at the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Cultural Center, Víctor Víctor and Ordoñez will share a conference-concert entitled La bachata: popular Dominican romantic music.
According to the Minister Counselor of the Dominican Embassy in Cuba, Socorro Castellanos, the Culture Week of her country in Havana will be held from February 20 to 27, and includes cinema, theater, literature and music with representatives of the country.
Víctor Víctor was founder, along with Sonia Silvestre, of the group Nueva Forma, framed in what was called the protest song, in the decade of 1970.
The Dominican artist plays a couple of songs with the Cuban troubadour Liuba Maria Hevia in Parallel Lives, an album of her still in production that should be published this year.
