Cuban girl: First Latin America Singer to Participate in Festival to be held in Belarus

Cuban girl Erika Hernandez Gonzalez will be the first Latin American representative to participate in the International Festival of Arts Slavyansk Bazaar, city of Vitebsk, next July, announced the organizing committee.

The little girl, 10, was chosen among more than 30 children all around the world, reported Alberto Loreydis, representative for Latin America and the Caribbean for the this traditional, annual event organized by Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.

Hernandez will take part in the 15th edition of the international contest of children´s music of Vitebsk with two songs: the first must be a hit in her country, and the second, an international hit, according to the event rules.

The song Que suenen los tambores, written by Osmany Espinosa and performed masterfully by Cuban singer Laritza Bacallao will be one of them.

She will also perform the song Sorry (in English version). This song was recorded by popular Canadian artist Justin Bieber in his album Purpose and was written by Julia Michales, Justin Tranter, and Bieber himself.

The event will be held from July 10-13 as a prelude to the 26th International Festival of the Arts Slavyansk Bazaar. Erika will compete against other 20 contestants.

Erika´s video clip “Bailame” is currently being promoted in Belarus local television.
