With the purpose to strengthen bilateral links, Cuban Culture Minister Abel Prieto and his counterpart from Cape Verde, Abraão Aníbal Barbosa, signed an agreement for exchange until 2019, local authorities reported here Wednesday.
The agreement will start this month and includes the application of a program for the joint celebration of exhibit, theoretical meetings and discussions on several artistic manifestations.
Regarding culture, the exchange between musicians, actors, writers and other kinds of intellectual, and the planning of cultural activities between artists from both nations, was approved.
Cuba will offer technical assistance in fields such as cultural steps, community work, folklore and contemporary dancing, classic ballet, fine arts and patrimony.
'We sould defend the culture of our peoples. This will be a way to increase actions on that objective,' Abel Prieto assured.
For his part, Barbosa recognized the quality of art in Cuba, and stated that the agreement will allow a much better approach between Cuba and Cape Verde.
