From June 15 to 18 the Ambos Mundos Hotel, in the historic center of the city, and frequented by the Nobel Literature, will host the academic program as well as several activities attached to the event.

A total of 26 speakers from Italy, Japan, Spain, Argentina and the United States will attend the event, while 25 scholars from the life and work of the renowned U.S. journalist and writer will participate, stated Gladys Collazo, president of the National Heritage Council Cultural.

At a press conference, Collazo also explained that the colloquium will be distended in tours for various locations regularly visited by Hemingway such as the Bodeguita del Medio restaurant, Floridita bar and the town of Cojímar.

Gladys Collazo, president of the organizing committee of the colloquium, highlighted the special intervention of Valerie Hemingway, personal secretary of the writer and wife of her youngest son, during the opening day.

In this edition, the event will be dedicated to the 80 and 65 anniversaries of the publication of the titles Tener y no Tener (To Have and Have Not) and El viejo y el mar (The Old Man and the Sea) respectively, as well as 55 years of the founding of the Ernest Hemingway Museum, located in Finca Vigía, where the author lived for more than two decades.
