The Milano Latin Festival 2017, the most important cultural event of this time of the year in Lombardy, is dedicating one week to Cuba from today to July 26, with events related to the happening of the Caribbean island.

'Night for rumba and son' will open the celebration to pay tribute to the former, declared a UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of humanity and the latter, which is advancing along the same path.

The photographic exhibition 'Bailar is vivir', by Italian photographer, Aldo Bianchi, with images of distinguished figures of the Cuban dance and ballet in different regions of the country, will be also opened.

The event to be held on Saturday, July 22, will be dedicated to the glories of the Cuban sports and the greatness of that activity as an expression of brotherhood, unity and solidarity as the program of the event posted on milanolatinfestival.it establishes.

A day dedicated to Cuban books and literature with the sale and promotion of different volumes is also on the list. A tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his fall in Bolivia, will be held on July 26, Day of National Rebellion.

The Milano Latin Festival is a place for fun, joy and color, but also a meeting point of different cultures and integration, Nieves Machado, responsible for institutional relations of the event held every summer in the Milan locality of Assago, told Prensa Latina.

Particularly in 2017, the actions are focused on the celebration of the 'Year for Sustainable Tourism', declared by the United Nations among the goals of the 2030 Agenda in favor of economic, social and cultural development.

Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, among other Latin American nations are also represented in the festival, where there is an institutional space for each week for a different country with activities sponsored by the consulates accredited in Milan.
