Organizers of the first edition of the international electronic music festival, Eyeife, scheduled here for September 26-30, hope to turn the Cuban capital into one of the main venues of that music genre in the world.

The Eyeife poster invites the participants to mix electronic music with rhythms associated with the African musical origins in the Cuban culture, although it is open to all expressions of the popular music of the island.

More than 30 artists from a dozen countries will take part in this first event, among them disc jockeys and music producers Chip E (United States), Tuff London (UK), Chancha Vía Circuito (Argentina), Bishop (Mexico), and Ivan Lejardi, Wichy del Vedado and Kike Wolf (Cuba).

Havana-based Casa de las Americas and the Higher Institute of Art will be the main venues for the event.

It will focus on concerts and workshops related to music production and the organization of electronic music festivals, as well as the influence of this genre in the Cuban scene.
