The Summit of the Americas has lost legitimacy in the face of the peoples of the region, stated the Argentinean intellectual Atilio Boron, in an interview granted to Telesur in this capital.

The prominent political scientist was shocked by the presence at the Summit of Argentinean President Mauricio Macri, a man he said heads a government characterized by a radical incompatibility of interests in officials who are ministers and at the same time are managers of large international corporations.

Macri himself, he recalled, appears on the Panama and Bahamas papers, and he is here now to teach lessons on how to fight corruption to Venezuela, which is why I believe that the Summit of the Americas has completely deflated.

The expert considers that the most important event was the Summit of the Peoples, which had greater attention from public opinion and social movements in Peru, and concluded with a great march widely covered by a large part of the accredited media.

In that event, we raised the issues that they do not want to discuss and that are decisive for the future of Latin America, he concluded.
