The Historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, arrives today in Costa Rica, where on Saturday he will be distinguished with the National Order Juan Rafael Mora Fernández in the degree of Great Cruz Plate of Silver.

Its program also contemplates a tour of the central market of San José and a visit to the National Theater capital, recently declared one of the 14 national symbols of the Architectural Historical Patrimony and Cultural Freedom of the Nation, relates Press Latina

The Morista Academy will award the Morista Order of Merit to the historian of the Cuban capital, while the municipality of San José will deliver the Distinguished Visitor Scroll of the Costa Rican capital.

On Saturday, Leal will offer a magisterial conference in the auditorium of the Buenaventura Corrales School (Metallic Building), Architectural Patrimony of Costa Rica.

This activity will be attended prof esores of the general education, members of the diplomatic corps, deputies, members of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, Cubans living in Costa Rica, specialists of different branches of culture, students and university professors, among others.

Later, Leal will be distinguished with the National Order Juan Rafael Mora Fernandez in the degree of Grand Cross Plate of Silver, which takes the name of the first Head of State of Costa Rica.

The National Order Juan Mora Fernández, in its different degrees, is a Costa Rican distinction destined to foreign personalities and was instituted by President Rafael Ángel Calderón and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship Bernd H. Niehaus on July 11, 1991.

Born in Havana on September 11, 1942, Eusebio Leal It has been distinguished by the work of rescue and restoration of the historic environment of Old Havana, declared in 1982 a World Heritage Site by the Organiz United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco)

Currently, Old Havana is one of the most tourist areas of the Cuban capital due to the restoration of churches, fortresses and other historic buildings.
