Havana Historian, Eusebio Leal, made fruitful visits to Luxembourg and Belgium, during which he presented the extraordinary work of heritage preservation carried out in the Cuban capital.

According to a diplomatic statement, Leal participated in the European Heritage Heads Forum in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as the only guest who's not from the so-called old continent.

In the meeting, he presented the conference 'Restoration of Old Havana, the Cuban Model', focused on the experiences of the island in terms of heritage conservation, which was very well received by the public.

In this European state, he was also received by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mars Di Bartolomeo, and by the Secretary of State for Culture, Guy Arendt; besides having meetings with Cuban residents and friends of solidarity.

During his stay in Belgium, the historian spoke with authorities in the Brussels-Capital region, linked to projects with Havana, such as the Vitrina de Valonia and the Art Nouveau Network.

He also visited Antwerp city, where he exchanged with the main executives of emblematic museums, including the Plantin-Moretus, which was declared World Heritage Site.

Leal also offered the lecture 'Old Havana: Unique model of Urban Rebirth', in the Brussels Palace of Fine Arts, one of the main cultural centers of the Belgian capital.

During his presentation, he explained the restoration work of the former Villa de San Cristobal, close to turning 500 years, while highlighting the social and cultural projects related to the population, the main target of a work that preserves the balance between the living city, its inhabitants and those who visit it.
