German Film Week to Be Held in Cuba

Havana, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) The German Film Week, scheduled from July 3 to 8, will begin in this capital with the exhibition of the trilogy ''In the Middle of Germany: NSU'', according to its organizers. The film narrates from three different perspectives: authors, victims and researchers, the events that occurred in the European country after the emergence of the neo-Nazi group National Sozialistischer Untergrund (NSU) in the former German Democratic Republic.

As explained at a press conference by the German cultural attaché, Andreas Achiekofer, very good film options will also be exhibited for the Cuban public, which is very educated and knowledgeable.

He also said that they are feature films shown at international festivals and focused on migration, a key issue for German society.

'It is a hard bread, but of great importance,' said Achiekofer, using a German saying.

Among the exhibition, there will be movies such as the comedy 'Boulevard Schönefeld' (2014), 'Death to the hippies! Long live Punk!' (2015), 'Casting' (2017) and the drama 'Dreamed Road' (2016), the latter focused on the migration of neighboring Greece that also lives this reality.

23 y 12 cinema, located in the capital's Vedado, will host the German film festival that annually arrives in Havana as a bridge of exchange of knowledge between filmmakers and the amateur public of the seventh art.
