Buenos Aires, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) After 41 years of a struggle still ongoing the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo have celebrated with a concert full of symbolism, love, struggle and hope in which the Argentinean Leon Gieco and the Cuban Silvio Rodriguez were present.

The Casacuberta hall of the San Martin Theater testified to a magical Tuesday night. There were the Grandmothers and their president, the great human rights defender Estela de Carlotto, the recovered grandchildren, friends, those who believe and are convinced that perseverance achieves miracles that love, as Silvio would say, breeds wonders.

They wanted to kill us and they sowed us,' Carlotto told those in the auditorium, where several personalities attended, but above all those men and women who today, thanks to the struggle of these warriors, were able to recover their true identity and who are convinced the fight is continuing to find the other 300 grandchildren who are missing.

Gieco, along with his harmonica and guitar, thanked the Grandmothers for honoring him by singing in the tribute and interpreted the central theme of the documentary El Camino de Santiago ('The Way to Santiago'), by Tristan Bauer, dedicated to the memory of the late young Santiago Maldonado, disappeared and later found dead after the repression of the gendarmerie in Chubut.

There, among the audience, was also Sergio, one of the brothers of the young man who defended the Mapuche community of Cushamen and never returned home.

When the emotions were beating, Silvio came up, accompanied by the consonant Vocal chorus. I feel very honored that I was invited to this event, he said. Several songs sounded then, such as Solo el amor ('Only Love') and Pequeña serenata diurna ('Little Day Serenade').

'Tears must be transformed into struggle, resistance and hope. Many of us say thank you in spite of the pain because we can leave something to posterity so that this story is not repeated, for the Never Again,' said an emotional Estela de Carlotto almost at the close of the concert.
