A concert with different genres and styles is celebrating on Sunday in Managua the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, with a broad plan of cultural and sports activities.

The event is scheduled for 18:00 hours, local time, at the Ruben Dario Theater. The Camerata Bach, an orchestra conducted by Maestro Ramon Rodriguez Sobalvarro, will be the main protagonist of the concert.

According to the program, pieces by several authors, genres and styles will be performed, with special emphasis on Cuban and Nicaraguan music, highlighting Latin American identity.

The concer is only one of the events prepared by the Sandinista Youth to celebrate in Managua and other cities the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. This includes cultural and sports activities, debates on the region's reality and challenges and visits to places of interest, among others.

A photo exhibition about Cuban leader Fidel Castro and important moments of the last 60 years of Cuba's history, a bike rally and a friendly baseball game between Nicaraguan and Cuban fans at the Hugo Chavez Sports Center will be among the events scheduled until early March.

The monument 'Cuba, Heroica y Solidaria' (Cuba, Heroic and Friendly) will be unveiled at the Operation Miracle Hospital to pay tribute to the friendship that unites both countries; and a traveling play about Cuba's solidarity with Latin America will be staged.

Tributes to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, on occasion of his 166th birthday, and the main leaders of the Cuban Revolution, are also included.

Cultural galas, dance competitions, gastronomy festivals, and meetings of the Nicaraguan Committee of Solidarity with Cuba, the Student University Movement and the educational program 'Yo Si Puedo' (Yes, I Can), complete the program.
