The film on the concerts by singer Ileana Padron –Cucu's real name- has been applauded internationally for its music, but above all because it's difficult to classify in a single genre, Prensa Latina news agency reported.

In fact, critics that established her reputation as a great artist in festivals of New York, Chicago and Buenos Aires have categorized it as a docudrama, vaudeville, road movie, lightweight comedy and even a mere divertimento.

Perugorría, who plays a leading role in the only Cuban film nominated to an Oscar (Strawberry and Chocolate, 1993), also directed the comedy "Se Vende" (For Sale, 2012).

The Festival, organized by the Cervantes Institute of Rome, has among its guests of honor figures like directors Miguel Ferrari (Venezuela), Javier Rebollo (Spain) and Salvatore Metastasio (Italy).

Ferrari will present his acclaimed film Azul y no tan rosa, winner of the 2012 Goya Prize, while Rebollo will screen his work "El muerto y ser feliz", winner of a Concha de Plata Prize in San Sebastian.
