Ed, Little Mix and Stormzy are the most popular artists amongst kids aged 7 to 17, according to a new report into music and wellbeing.
The survey of 1,001 English children was published by Youth Music, a charity investing in music-making projects for young people.
Four in ten of the respondents said music made them feel cool and 85% said it made them feel happier.
Matt Griffiths from the charity said: "Young people are using music as a resource to draw on, a coping mechanism to support their personal wellbeing.
The study follows research, published by the Musicians' Union(MU) in November, suggesting poorer children were being priced out of learning musical instruments.
Children in low income households were half as likely to take music lessons.
