Havana, May 9 (Prensa Latina) The Musicians Association of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) announced Thursday the Harold Gramatges 2019 Composition Contest of Chamber Music for Wind Instruments, considered among the most important in the country.
Cuban and foreign composers residing in Cuba may participate in the contest, without age limit, with unpublished works, whose duration will be between five and eight minutes, and must not have been premiered or awarded in other contests.
According to the call for competition, works for wind ensembles with 3 to 10 members, which may or may not include the piano, may be submitted and cycles of short pieces for the competing formats may be taken into account.
Registration will be made at the headquarters of the Association of Musicians of UNEAC or provincial committees and the admission period expires on November 15 this year.
Each candidate can present up to two works and the scores will be received in a closed envelope identified with a pseudonym, full name, private address, identity card, telephone, mail and a brief curriculum.
