Cuban, European Musicians at Concert in Honor of Havana
Cuban and European musicians will give a concert on Sunday in this capital, as a tribute to the Village of San Cristobal de La Habana, which will celebrate its 500th anniversary in November.
The musicians will play Ein Deutsches Requiem Op. 45 (A German requiem) by composer and pianist Johannes Brahms in the concert, scheduled for 20:00 hours, local time, at Havana's Cathedral.
The piece, composed for soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra, will be performed by Agnes Kovacs (Hungary) and Andre Morsch (Germany, both with notable experience in international stages.
The Balthasar Neumann Chor, Camara Exaudi, Ensemble Vocal Luna, Schola Cantorum Coralina, the Chamber Choir of the National School of Arts and the Chair of Sacred Music at the Father Felix Varela Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies, among others, will accompany the singers.
The Balthasar Neumann Academy, the Orchesterzentrum NRW, the Havana Lyceum Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Higher Institute of Arts, attached to the Mozart Lyceum of Havana, will also participate in the gala.
