The Minister of Culture and Information of Serbia, Vladan Vukosavljevic, transmitted this Saturday condolences for the physical departure of the first assolute whale from Cuba, Alicia Alonso.

In a message sent to the Cuban ambassador in Serbia, Gustavo Trista del Todo, expressed, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Information and in his own, the deepest sorrow on the death of one of the world's greatest dancers.

He emphasizes that the artistic work of the famous Alonso made an immeasurable contribution to the ballet of the twentieth century, and placed the Cuban National Ballet among the leading companies in the world.

'The anthological interpretations of Giselle and Carmen opened the doors to the main world stages, both in the East and in the West, and gave him the pleasant title of prima ballerina assoluta', underlines the Serbian headline.

He asserts that in the continuation of her career as artistic director, choreographer and pedagogue of the National Ballet of Cuba, she was the inspiration of generations of young Cuban and world dancers.

'His refined appearances and his unique expressiveness will remain forever etched in the history of the ballet,' Minister Vukosavljevic said.

The death of the legendary dancer was echoed by several Serbian newspapers, radio and television stations, which highlighted her long and brilliant career and her qualities as a director and educator.
