As reported to Cubarte digital newspaper by Maritza Acosta, director of Cuerpo Fusion Theater Company, artists from Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil, as well as Cuban theater companies, musicians, goldsmiths and pantomime experts will take part in this 6th edition.

Among the activities to be developed are master lectures, performances, fashion shows, productions and dolls' exhibitions. “One of the novelties of the event will be, without a doubt, the presentation of seven types of dishes related to the traits of the characters in the Art Comedy. This activity has been scheduled for Thursday, June 11, with the participation of a chef and the interactive presence of pantomime”, said Acosta.

The organizers also reported they will pay a posthumous tribute to maestro Julio Capote this time. Moreover, a special acknowledgment will be given to pantomime maestro from Ecuador, Luis Cáceres Carrasco, who visits Cuba each year to take part in the event. On this occasion, the specialist will present a book written by him as part of the official program and which deals with the mime poetry.

From Granma province, Tiempo group already confirmed its participation in the pantomime show, as well as Teatro Tuyo Company from Las Tunas province. There will also be spaces for Visual Arts, as part of the activities of the 12th Havana Biennial.

An art fashion parade will take place at Bertolt Brecht Cultural Center next June 12, with fantasy designs conceived from recyclable materials. “It is about a performance that uses the work of visual artist Alicia Leal as part of the staging. There will be pantomime, models, and, once finished, the artist will teach a lecture about the aesthetic discourse”, added the director of Cuerpo Fusión Company.

In the meantime, the popular Pantomime Parade all along Linea street, in Vedado district, will take place next Friday, June 12, at 2 pm, and will start at the event venue, to move later to Casa del ALBA. This new edition of Pantomime Havana 2015 includes a wide program of activities, an invitation for all the funs of this gestural art that always invites us to joy.
