Featured Portrait that Lucian Freud Denied Painting Revealed as Genuine

London, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) After an extensive research, a group of art experts revealed today as genuine a portrait that Lucian Freud (1922-2011) denied painting. When asked by a BBC television program, specialists said that the portrait of a young man with a neckerchief was painted by Freud, who is considered one of the most important figurative artists of contemporary art.

According to the experts, Freud painted the portrait in 1939 and it is claimed that his reticence in acknowledging the work was down to the fact that it was owned by Denis Wirth-Miller, an artist with whom he had a long-running feud.

From evidence offered by Freud's former attorney, experts found that the artist said in a phone conversation that he had started the painting, however, he denies having completed it.
