Cuban dancer and choreographer Ely Regina Hernandez, member of the Acosta Danza Company, expressed satisfaction with the presentation of three of her choreographies during the International Ballet Festival of Havana.

The choreographer revealed to Prensa Latina that a year ago, she decided to face new challenges in her professional life with the newly founded Carlos Acosta group, which has given her new tools to undertake her choreographic work.

In this 25th edition of the festival, Ely Regina will premiere 'Invierno' (Winter) at the closing gala on November 6 in the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso. The first dancers of the National Ballet of Cuba Anette Delgado and Dani Hernández will dance the main roles.

In addition, the National Ballet of Cuba will premiere 'Souls in Mirror' a choreography made especially for Acosta Dance.

'My creations are not just for Acosta Dance, if anyone is interested can use them', Regina Ely said.

At the moment, she likes to alternate her choreographic work with dancing.

'I really enjoy dancing and creating choreographies: now I'm learning new things, even to dance folklore. But I want to keep progressing as a choreographer and the Ballet Festival of Havana is a very good start. Many creators come here, many trends come together, and that way you can learn what's going on with the dance worldwide.

With just one year of existence, the group founded by Carlos Acosta has performed at major international venues, such as the iconic Royal Albert Hall, London.

From October 28 to November 6, some of its members will join artists from 16 countries that will arrive in Havana to offer their art.
