Brad Pitt Vindicated in Child Abuse Case

Ever since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, he’s been in the fight of his life to maintain joint custody of his six children with his soon-to-be-ex-wife and today (Nov. 9, 2016), his legal team got some good news.

The divorce filing and custody battle both reportedly stem from an incident in Sept. in which Pitt supposed got physical with his oldest son Maddox Jolie-Pitt during a private flight. But according to TMZ, the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services has completed an investigation into the alleged altercation and cleared the A-list actor of any wrongdoing.

Jolie’s claim that Pitt’s behavior made him an unfit guardian is the crux of her argument in the custody battle, which has now been repudiated. Social workers have spoken with Pitt, Jolie and Maddox and will not be taking any further action.

The actress’s divorce petition demanded that she get sole custody of their children while Pitt is requesting joint custody. TMZ reports that barring unsafe situations, California tends to favor joint custody for separating spouses.

While this legal battle is playing out, Jolie has temporary custody while Pitt is allowed monitored visitation with his kids.
