Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro highlighted the historic nature of the congratulatory letter sent by his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro, on the people''s victory to establish the National Constituent Assembly (ANC).
On his Twitter account, the Venezuelan president confirmed the ties of brotherhood with the Cuban leader.
'At the ALBA-TCP summit, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez handed over this historic setter to me from our brother Raul Castro,' Maduro wrote.
Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) noted the positive assessment by Raul Castro on the Venezuelan people's heroic deed over the past few days in defense of peace and democracy in their country.
In that regard, the president of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba noted that 'it represents a valuable lesson that turns Venezuela into a symbol for our continent.'
VTV added that the Cuban president noted that on July 30, the people gave 'a demonstration of popular support (...) very clear and strong, loyal to the legacy of Liberator Simon Bolivar and of Commander Hugo Chavez.
