The toll of the ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo has risen to 100 dead, the Health Ministry confirmed through Twitter.

Of that amount, 69 cases were confirmed on lab tests and the other 31 were related to sick people, but it was impossible to examine them.

So far, there are 149 infected people with bleeding fever and another 12 are under observation as they are suspected to have the ebola virus.

The health authorities reported the arrival in Kinshasa of 4,320 vaccine doses against the ailment that can be 90% lethal.

The current outbreak is the year's second and the worst in a decade.

Ebola is transmitted by contact with fluids of sick people and bodies, whether human or animal.
