With the purpose of showing the development reached by electromedicine in 55 years in Cuba, a national scientific event opens on Thursday with the participation of professionals and technicians from all provinces of the country.

According to the program, the first day of the meeting, taking place at the Conference Center in Cojimar, east of Havana, includes the keynote speech Biomedical technologies and biomedical engineer training.

A film on electromedical services offered on the island to the National Health System and other nations, will be also screened.

The workshops on technology management for directors from provincial electromedicine centers and the generalization of solutions and innovation, are also included in the agenda.

The assessment of image quality in the diagnostic ultrasound system and some solutions for sterilization equipment will also be analyzed.

The occasion will be propitious to present a bacterial growth study in raw milk sampling with photostimulation (activation of an organism by means of light) and measurement of turbidity (degree of transparency that loses water).

The National Electromedical Network, founded in 1982 on the initiative of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, has the appropriate infrastructure, workshops, material and human resources to keep a large number of equipment running.
