After two years of steady decline, China will regain lost ground in smartphone exports in 2020 due to growing demand for devices with the ultra-fast 5G network, global studies predict.

According to the US firm International Data Corporation (IDC), it is very likely that the year-on-year increase in exports will be 0.7 percent as users around the world opt to acquire the new technology.

It also projects a drop in the price of cell phones with 5G to below two thousand yuan (almost 285.80 dollars) in the coming year, which will encourage their commercialization.

IDC's forecasts come after the boom in this exportable item was revealed last November, precisely due to the overwhelming increase in the demand for cell phones with the new and faster connection network incorporated.

According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the country China shipped 5.74 billion such devices abroad last month.

That figure far exceeded sales of 4G models between January and October this year, when only 323 million units left the country for a 5.8 percent year-on-year drop.
