Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, received his counterpart from the Republic of El Salvador, Salvador Sanchez, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

During the cordial meeting on Wednesday afternoon, held as usual at the Palace of the Revolution, they talked about the excellent state of bilateral relations and the broad potential to continue developing them in different economic economic-trade sectors and in cooperation. Both leaders also spoke about various issues on the regional and international agendas.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Hugo Martinez, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Roberto Lorenzana, Technical and Planning Secretary of the Presidency; Eugenio Chicas, Secretary of Communications of the Presidency; and Sandra Geraldine Alvarado, Ambassador of El Salvador to Havana.

Cuba was also represented at the meeting by the First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel; Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez; Jose Ramon Balaguer, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party; Rogelio Sierra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Iliana Fonseca, Cuba’s ambassador to the Central American nation.
