Presidents Raul Castro and Vladimir Putin in Dialogue in the United Nations
United Nations.- The presidents of Cuba and Russia, Raul Castro and Vladimir Putin, respectively, converse today here on bilateral and international issues.
The encounter of the leaders, who were accompanied by Foreign Ministers Bruno Rodriguez and Serguei Lavrov, took place in the framework of the debate at the General Assembly.
President Putin said that both countries could achieve important results and that in the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission many of the issues that united us could be discussed.
The Russian president also sends his best wishes to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
President Raul Castro congratulated Putin for his speech at the General Assembly that was applauded several times and also highlighted the speeches of Chinese president, Xi Jinping; and the one made by president Barack Obama for the United States
The Cuban president said that relations between Russia and Cuba are going forward and that they will increase in the future.
The Cuban president will speak this afternoon at the Plenary.
