Cuba-U.S. -Blockade: Ryan and Other Warlocks of the Capitol

The speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, confirmed this Tuesday that the “embargo” against Havana will remain.

He stated this after every year at the UN General Assembly that politics have been condemned si9nce 1992.

Besides, there isn’t an international forum, like the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) that has always supported this condemnation.

Parliaments, religious organizations, and personalities from all over the world have also raised their voice against it.

Experts educated guess that the blockade has been cause of the deepest setback suffered by Washington’s foreign policy in the last 50 years.

The blockade has united in the practice a wide against-blockade front where several tendencies come together.

Nevertheless, a piece of news from the Spanish agency EFE reported that Mr. Ryan of the House of Representatives fervently defends to keep that behavior.

On the modifications made public by President Barack Obama, Ryan expresses that they will only help to finance "the Castros" clinging to power.

In an official statement he dared say that they continue imprisoning, "monthly, hundreds of activists whom they call pro-democratic."

Such fact, according to Ryan, shows the opening efforts of the North American president are in vain.

"As the last two years of normalization of relationships have only encouraged to the régime at the expense of the Cuban people, I have all the intention of keeping our embargo against Cuba", he asserted.

Without mentioning the harsh validity of the blockade, Diario Las Americas interpreted the new measures toward their Caribbean neighbor.

These measures will increase flexibility regarding the economic blockade to Cuba that will boost the combined medical research and help to improve agriculture and the infrastructure of the island.

The Departments of Trade and Treasure informed them, and they went into effect this Monday.   

Las Americas Newspaper remarked that the "embargo" can only be removed if the Congress decides it.
