Ballet Vilma at the National Theater over the weekend

The Cuban National Ballet Company and its director, Alicia Alonso, will premiere the ballet Vilma at the Nacional Theater on September 29th to mark the 85th birthday of late Cuban women’s revolutionary leader, Vilma Espín.

A Route for Alicia Alonso

The special route “Alicia Alonso, órbita de una leyenda”, dedicated to the 95th birth anniversary of the famous Cuban dancer, will start on July 9 at 2pm at Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura attached to the City Historian's Office.

Havana.- June 5, 1945 marks a happy moment for universal culture: prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso made her debut in Cuba in Giselle or The Willis as Giselle, a role that turned her into one of the greatest ballet dancers in the 20th century.

Cuban Ballet Company in Germany Shortly

The Cuban National Ballet Company, directed by dance legend Alicia Alonso, will be in Germany with premier dancer Yanela Piñera and principal Camilo Ramos at the 20th International Ballet Gala set for September 27 and 28 at the Grand Opera House in the city of Dortmund.
