Sunday was certainly an unforgettable day for the people in Venezuela. Most of the revolutionary candidates won the municipal elections. Omar Prieto also won the government in the state of Zulia.

Official results have not been released yet, but it is public that more than 47% of voters attended, which represents more than 9,3 million voters who exercised their rights in a quiet, safe, and transparent environment, as confirmed by international observers.

With good mayors, the work of the Bolivarian Revolution could positively affect the citizens as they would work side by side with the President. His main goal is to minimize the chaotic situation of death and destruction caused by the opposition elements serving the Empire and the local oligarchy.

It is important to highlight that contrary to what corporative media presented as a national chaos, terrorist incidents only took place in limited areas where the governance was in the hands of the opposition. In popular neighborhoods —meaning poor people—, there were no records of any incidents.

Among the statements that shed some light on this third elections in less than five months —all of them won by Chavez’s followers—, let’s quote that of the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino Lopez when he labeled the day as successful, brave, deeply democratic; therefore, there are reasons to congratulate from the Ministry of Defense to the National Electoral Council.

“There is a lot to celebrate today. According to this democratic vocation, we say all of us should work for the valuable good of the union, one homeland to defend and a democratic system to boost,” he noted.

Such unity is today much needed than ever. And work from the grassroots is better done. Thus, the paramount influence of revolutionary mayors in the governance is great. Besides, the state of Zulia is now governed by a Chavez’s follower. The former governor was active member of the opposition and refused to obey the National Constituent Assembly in the name of human dignity.

According to him, such “dignity” supports the economic war against his own homeland and proudly flatters leaders such as Argentine president Macri and Venezuelan Capriles. And he also regrets these two can be deprived of their good life privileges; moreover, he backs all those media that do not teach about freedom and true history.

This article could be entitled Betting for the Revolution as well, by detailing the voters’ choosing on Sunday. This vote strengthened even more democracy over the lies the Empire is spreading all around the world paving the way for a possible military invasion.

And the merit is even greater when we realize the Bolivarian Government has faced, halted, and overcome a brutal and ongoing economic war. The government knows they cannot be reckless and they need the support of the people.

The Bolivarian Government has never been so threatened before. After Hugo Chavez won the presidency in 1999, the US Empire along with its inside collaborators have carried out a fierce siege that even included a coup d’ etat and an oil sabotage. This siege has worsened before the real possibility of a military intervention to dethrone current government.

Meanwhile, a round table is being carried out in the Dominican Republic between the government and the opposition thanks to the efforts of President Nicolas Maduro.

It is true. They are not trustworthy because we know them and “they say one thing and do other aiming at pleasing a master who does not like a nation —as Venezuela— refusing to obey the orders.”
