The Helms-Burton Act. We do not understand each other
One law, the Helms-Burton Act. But why? Because my history fights injustice. Because I do not fit your democratic patterns. Because I give top priority to my people, my family, my friends, instead of my own possessions. Because I choose peace to create rather than subjugating to rule. Because I am part of a nation and not a God to the world. Because I love black coffee instead of weak coffee. Or because I enjoy fried plantain and yucca with mojo and even mojito. A law because I am Cuban? Why do you insist on democratizing me? And why do you insist on tearing apart my dreams, erase my culture from my memory and subjugate me? No, not that way. That is not the way things are done!
