Leonardo DiCaprio reveals the advice he'd give to aspiring actors

Leonardo DiCaprio has offered a piece of advice for aspiring actors looking to start a career in the film industry.

Speaking to The Mirror in a Q&A, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star discussed working with Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt in the new film, as well as his own career.

“The cool thing about making movies, and the first thing I say to anyone who asks about working in movies and getting into this industry, is that what you do is burned on to celluloid history for all time,” he said.

“I’m like, ‘Start to watch them. Go and see what has been done before you," he continued. "Try to measure yourself up to some of the greats and then start from there.’

“I endlessly watch movies and I am blown away by what has been done in cinema past.”

Tarantino recently broke his own record at the US box office for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which stars DiCaprio as a fading star accompanied by his stunt double (Pitt).

Sylvester Stallone won't face sexual assault charges

Sylvester Stallone will not face rape charges after prosecutors in California found there was "insufficient evidence".

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office also found the allegations fell outside of the statue of limitations.

In 2017, an unidentified victim said Stallone assaulted her in the early 1990s.

The Rocky star said the allegation was "completely fabricated".

According to the charge evaluation sheet, the woman said she and Stallone had "a consensual relationship" in 1987.

"The victim alleged assaults in 1987 and 1990 and provided fresh complaint witnesses," it reads.

"However, none of the witnesses corroborated the victim's allegations."

It also reported that the additional investigation "did not provide any further corroboration".

At the time of the woman's original allegation, Stallone's lawyer Marty Singer said the actor "categorically disputes the claim".

Hollywood to Produce Another Movie with African Characters

Los Angeles, U.S., Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) Disney company will produce a film called ''Sadé,'' which highlights the important role of African characters in that film industry, according to Deadline site.

The movie will be focused on the story of the first African princess -Sadé- and is an Ola Shokunbi and Lindsey Reed Palmer's original idea, under the direction of Rick Famuyiwa (Confirmation, 2016). It tells the misadventures of a young African woman whose kingdom is threatened by a mysterious evil force.

According to the producers, 'Sadé' is not the first Disney film starred by a black princess, but it will be one of the most attractive because of the description of the landscapes where the events take place (fictional, but in any African locality).

In 2009, Disney studios premiered the animated film 'Tiana and the Toad,' whose main character is a New Orleans waitress who, in the midst of the jazz revolution, dreamed of running her own restaurant, a production that grossed more than 267 million dollars at the box office and got three Oscar nominations.

The company's decision to go for what will be its first fairy tale set in Africa with black characters follows the great success obtained at the beginning of 2018 by 'Black Panther,' the first film starred by an African superhero.

Sylvester Stallone is Dead

A bizarre rumor that Sylvester Stallone is dead is sweeping the internet once again – 18 months after it first surfaced.

Facebook users reported seeing a fraudulent message in September 2016 claiming Stallone had been found dead at his LA home.

It was later exposed as a hoax after it emerged it was linked to a website known for creating and sharing celebrity death hoaxes.

But the rumor has now returned to social media a year-and-a-half later.

The return of the hoax appears to have been sparked by him sharing a fan poster for Creed II – the next installment in the Rocky film series.

After seeing Sly’s face on the advert, some people on social media – still convinced that he was dead from the last hoax – reacted with confusion.

RIP messages began to circulate online, with some claiming Sly had died from prostate cancer.

Twitter users were seen asking each other if the Rocky star had really passed away as the Chinese whispers spread like wildfire.

One wrote: “Is Sylvester Stallone dead or is Facebook lying again?”

Another wrote: “Omg I thought Sylvester Stallone was dead!! I hate the Internet”

And a third tweeted: “So the sick hoaxes have started again!!

“Silvester Stallone is NOT dead!!!!”

The last time he was declared dead by the internet, the Rambo actor was forced to prove he was alive by posting a picture of himself on social media.

He uploaded a picture of himself pulling a punch-up pose with Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev.

Stallone has not yet responded to the latest hoax.

Raging Bull

Ray "Sugar" Robinson didn't know what to do. The remains of the butchery were everywhere. Blood on his gloves, all over the face of his opponent, on every inch of the ring, on the bell, on the referee’s table, splattered on the clothes of those on the first row… he had punched him even with the ropes, but Jake La Motta was still there, standing.

The savage punishment received through 13 rounds assaults had him half-unconscious, but not even like that he could make his opponent bend the knee, and he made his opponent aware of that, considered by many the best boxer pound by pound in history. It was February 14, 1951.

Almost 40 years later, Robert de Niro read his autobiography and at once he wanted to make a movie of it, until he gave us the most famous among the thousands of movies about boxing ever filmed. A detail not to be overlooked if we are taking into account it’s about a technically mediocre boxer who got to be middleweight world champion in 1949, and defended his supremacy twice winning before clashing against Robinson.

But his courage enduring Robinson's punches even with his guts launched him into history, with the help of Martin Scorsese. Few remember that this was the sixth match between them, and that one of them was won by the Bull of the Bronx (when Robinson had 128 undefeated fights), but especially for what he told him with pride after the fight was stopped: I never went down, man! You never got me down, Ray! You hear me, you never got me down.

That was the end of "The slaughter of San Valentine's Day", but the legend began, and Giacobbe would never be Giacobbe again, from that day on he would be known as Raging Bull. His life was a rollercoaster of ups and downs (he fixed fights, beat his wife, cheated on her, was a car thief, alcoholic, consumed smoker, etc.) he was a true dish for Hollywood, but maybe it was necessary another Italian descendant to get to the very core of a human being with a hundred of shades.

Perhaps it even reform him, because as La Motta admitted years later, it was not recognized in the movie premiere, but he later understood that that was his past, and fortunately not his present.

Jane Fonda reveals she was sexually abused and raped in an interview with Brie Larson

Jane Fonda dropped a bombshell revelation that she was sexually abused when she was young.

The 79-year-old Hollywood icon revealed she was raped and sexually abused while discussing feminism and being an activist in an interview with fellow actress Brie Larson for Net-A-Porter.

"To show you the extent to which a patriarchy takes a toll on females; I've been raped, I've been sexually abused as a child and I've been fired because I wouldn't sleep with my boss and I always thought it was my fault;" she explained to the "Room" star. "That I didn't do or say the right thing."

The fitness guru didn't give further detail into the incidents, but used the examples to explain what young girls and women go through all of the time.

Jane Fonda and Richard Perry call it quits after 8 years

"I know young girls who've been raped and didn't even know it was rape. They think, 'It must have been because I said 'no' the wrong way,'" Fonda said.

The "Barbarella" star explained that it took her ages to learn how to say no, unlike Larson who said she already chooses her roles carefully.

"Unlike you, Brie, it took me 60 years to learn how to say no," Fonda said.

"If anyone offered me anything I would say yes. I took parts I wasn't right for and I was taken advantage of. I didn't know how to stand up for myself. Now, I would say, 'No. This is a piece of s--t. I don't like the way you're treating me,' and leave."

Emma Stone, Brie Larson share embrace backstage at Oscars

Fonda has made a legacy of being a political activist. She's spoken on behalf of women as a proud feminist and also recently rallied against President Trump's Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipeline orders.

In her earlier days as an actress, she spoke out against the Vietnam war — an issue that she explained first made her realize celebrities have the right to an opinion just as anyone else does.

Fonda was dating record producer Richard Perry since 2009, but the two just recently broke things off. She was previously married to Ted Turner from 1991 to 2001, Tom Hayden from 1973 to 1990 and Roger Vadim from 1965 to 1973.

Meryl Streep 'insulted' by James Corden at costume awards

Meryl Streep may be one of the most lauded film actresses of her generation - but she is also "a complete bitch".

That's according to James Corden, who went on to call his Into the Woods co-star "the worst" at a Hollywood bash.

Of course, the British chat show host was only joking as he presented Streep with a distinguished collaborator prize at the Costume Designers Guild Awards.

Oscar favourite La La Land and Marvel's Doctor Strange were among the films honoured at the Los Angeles event.

'She is the worst'

Corden was referring to Streep's spat with US president Donald Trump when he made his jokey remarks.

He claimed the first time he introduced himself to Streep, at a London restaurant, she mistook him for a waiter, saying: "I'll have the lemon-crusted salmon and a Diet Coke with no ice."

The Late Late Show host joked: "What I'm trying to say is, and it's time that someone said it, she's a complete bitch. She is the worst.

"Now listen, I disagree with almost everything Donald Trump has ever said but when he tweeted that... I'm joking, of course. It's great to see someone like Meryl finally recognised with an award."

Streep - who starred as a fashion magazine editor in The Devil Wears Prada - was recognised for her "unwavering support of costume design and creative partnerships with costume designers".

Accepting the accolade, the three-time Oscar winner paid tribute to the "artistry" of the "many wonderful designers" she had worked with over the course of her long career.

She did not mention Mr Trump as she collected her award, but said she had wanted to be a costume designer herself.

"I have to dedicate this because it means a lot to me," she said. "Not because I wanted to be a costume designer - which I did - but because my mother really wanted to be a costume designer.

"Halloween was like the run-up to fashion week in my house."

Award for Thrones designer

La La Land beat Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie to the "excellence in contemporary film" prize, while Doctor Strange won the fantasy film equivalent.

Space race drama Hidden Figures received the excellence in period film award at an event that also saw Michele Clapton honoured for both The Crown and Game of Thrones.

It was the third year running that the Bafta-winning British costume designer was awarded for her work on Thrones.

Other winners on Tuesday included Lily Collins, who took home the guild's Spotlight award.

The award given to Collins, daughter of musician Phil Collins, is to honour an actor "whose talent and career personify an enduring commitment to excellence, including a special awareness of the role and importance of costume design".

Musical romance La La Land is one of the five films up for this year's costume design Oscar, a nomination that has raised eyebrows in some quarters.

"Best costume design?" spluttered Screen Junkies' "Trailer Guy" in its annual "honest" round-up of the year's best picture contenders. "They're just wearing clothes!"

Allied, Jackie and Florence Foster Jenkins are also in contention for the award, as is Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The 89th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre.
