Featured Cuba to compete with six athletes in Guadeloupe

Cuba competes today with six athletes in the 13th edition of the IAAF International Meeting of Guadeloupe, which is included in the seven IAAF international meetings organized by the French Federation of Track and Field.

The small Cuban delegation is made up of four athletes already qualified for the World Championship late in September in London, like heptathlete Yorgelis Rodriguez, who will compete only in high jump, and triple jumper Lazaro Martinez, who will try to improve his season best.

Likewise, triple jumper Liadagmis Povea and 800m runner Rose Mary Almanza are going to participate in the event.

On the other hand, speedsters Roberto Skyers (100m and 200m) and Yoandys Lescay (400m) will compete aiming at targeting the qualification time to participate in London.

Important figures of track and field will participate in the event; namely, American shot putter Ryan Crouser, Canadian Andre DeGrasse, Venezuelan triple jumper Yulimar Rojas, and Portuguese triple jumper Nelson Evora.
