Cuba beat 11-0 Turks and Caicos Islands at Havana´s Pedro Marrero Stadium, at the start of the 2019-20 CONCACAF Nations League qualifying.
This was the largest thrash in the history of Cuban soccer, the previous one (9-0) was achieved over Puerto Rico in 1995 and the final score must have been even higher.
Cuba´s goals were scored by Luis Paradela, who amounted three, Luismel Morris (2), Yordan Santa Cruz (2), Andy Baquero (2) and Reinaldo Perez and Roberney Caballero, one each.
Raul Mederos, Cuba´s head coach, told ACN that despite the crushing win, his players made some mistakes and lost opportunities against this weak rival, but the three other opponents have a higher level, so they cannot repeat those errors.
Cuba´s next rivals in the CONCACAF Nations League will be Grenada (next October 12th), Dominican Republic (November 17th) and Haiti (March 24, 2019).
The 2019-20 CONCACAF Nations League grants 10 tickets to the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup to take place in 14 cities of United States from June 18 to July 18.
