According to the official website of the Astana Women's Team, Cuban Arlenis Sierra, captain of that professional cycling club, extended her contract and will also ride in 2019 for the Kazakh squad.
The Cuban cyclist will be accompanied by athletes from Latin American countries such as Mexican Carolina Rodriguez, Colombian Liliana Moreno and the also Cuban Heidy Pradera, who is only 20.
Sierra, 26, won recently the Tour of Guangxi, China, last October, last race of the 2018 UCI Women's World Tour.
The Astana Women's Team has UCI Women's Team category (the top one of women´s road cycling worldwide) and will have 13 riders in its roster next year.
In 2016, the squad appeared 21st in the universal ranking, with Italian Arianna Fidanza in the 73rd seat as the best positioned; while in 2017, they ranked 17th with Cuban Sierra in the 21st spot of the individual ranking.
