Moscow, March 6 (Prensa Latina) Russia called on all parties on the Korean peninsula today for restraint, following the launch of several missiles by the Democratic People''s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in direction of the Sea of Japan.

'We express our concern about the new missile test carried out by the DPRK,' said Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

The DPRK army reportedly launched four ballistic missiles, three of which plunged within the Japanese exclusive economic zone, according to the capital's television.

A Japanese Defense Ministry source, quoted here, said the missiles hit an area about 350 kilometers from the Oga peninsula in Akita prefecture, without causing material damage.

Russia believes 'these are the sort of actions that lead to a rise in tension in the region and of course in this situation, traditionally, Moscow calls for restraint from all sides,' Peskov said.

Military specialists, referred to by the local press, consider that on this occasion the DPRK tested missiles with a range of one thousand kilometers.

From the European Union, calls were made to impose new sanctions against a nation that sought to find its own resources and methods to meet the vast majority of its needs.
