US Republicans Send Letter to Trump Urging Cuba Remain Open

According to the ABC News website, they are deeply concerned by reports the administration is leaning toward reversing the Cuba policy initiated by former President Barack Obama (2009-2017).

In the letter, the seven republicans wrote that reversing the re-normalization of US relations with Cuba would jeopardize the efforts to fight human trafficking, illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime and fraud identification.

The Republican congressmen who signed the letter include Reps. Tom Emmer of Minnesota, Rick Crawford of Arkansas, Ted Poe of Texas, Darin LaHood of Illinois, Roger Marshall of Kansas, James Comer of Kentucky and Jack Bergman of Michigan.

I sent a letter to Donald Trump saying that the rapprochement with Cuba is a national security imperative, Rep. Rick Crawford live-twittered.

On the other hand, Tom Emmer published a work on the support of Airbnb company to the trade opening with Cuba.

Trade relations with our neighboring island would benefit the United States! ' the congressman wrote.

According to ABC, the US National Security Council met today in order to finalize its policy and recommendations for the Directors Committee and then submitting the suggestions on Cuba to the president.

On April 20, over a dozen retired US military officers urged Donald Trump National Security Adviser Herbert McMaster to continue the path toward normalization with Cuba.
