According to the poll, conducted among 1000 adults on June 8 and 9, 46 percent of US citizens polled considered that Comey is more honest and trustworthy than Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, the poll said only 26 percent found Trump more trustworthy than James Comey.

The survey comes a few days after Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, where he said that his ouster was influenced by the investigation into alleged Russian election meddling and an collusion with Trump team.

James Comey said Trump asked him to pledge loyalty to him and also asked him to let go of the investigation into ousted national security adviser, Michael Flynn, in addition to saying that the White House cast aspersions upon him after his layoff.

The US President Donald Trump denied Comey´s claims, and some people close to him argued that there could be no talk about obstruction of justice since he never ordered Comey to do anything but simply told him to hope that those issues would be resolved.

According to the survey, 50 percent of those polled believed Trump asked for pledging loyalty.

Meanwhile, just 15 percent said they trusted Trump's response that he did not make such a request.

At the same time, 42 percent estimated the Comey's version on Trump's attempt to order him to drop his research on Flynn was real, while 28 percent said Trump did not.
