Electric Service Restored in Several Venezuelan States

Caracas, March 29 (Prensa Latina) Regional authorities reported electric service has been restored in the Venezuelan states of Yaracuy, Sucre, Merida and the Paez (Miranda) and Vargas municipalities, after the attack on the National Electric System (SEN) on March 25.

The Venezuelan Government denounced that the new energy sabotage done by the extreme right of Venezuela, in tune with Washington, affected the daily life of 80 percent of the population, after setting fire to the transmission center of the Simon Bolivar Hydroelectric Power Plant (El Guri), state of Bolivar.

During a telephone conversation with Venezolana de Television (VTV), the governor of Yaracuy's demarcation, Julio Heredia, explained that the territory has 100 percent of the energy distribution, and they are working to stabilize the pumping of drinking water.

Likewise, the highest authority of Sucre´s state, Edwin Rojas, reported that since early hours, energy had been recovered in the 15 municipalities.

Also, through the station of Venezuela´s National Radio, the political protector of Merida, Jehyson Guzman, reported that the town is above 80 percent of the service and 'we are heading to 100'.

On the other hand, Guzman highlighted that hospital institutions provide assistance through prioritized circuits to guarantee the health system to the people of Merida, as well as water pumping.

The mayor of the municipality of Vargas, Jose Teran, told VTV that the electric service in his jurisdiction is fully restored.

Likewise, the mayor of the Mirandino district of Paez, Jesus Monterola, explained that 'thanks to the work carried out in the Rio Chico 1 substation with all the staff of CORPOELEC (National Electric Corporation), we have at this moment 100 percent of the municipality with energy.'

The Mayoress of the Libertador municipality, Caracas, Erica Farias, assured the local television channel that in the capital they prioritize the distribution of water from 20 water wells.

In another issue related to wildfires around the Capital District, whose causes are still under investigation, Farias gave further details on the over 100 brigades that will be deployed in 80 places to carry out the whole weeding process.

Finally, she assured that the presence of the people in the streets in permanent mobilization will stop the opposition's attempts to destabilize the South American nation and justify a US military intervention.
