Maduro Congratulates the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Navy

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has congratulated the members of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Navy (Amarb) on Sunday on the anniversary of the creation of the country''s first Naval School in 1811.

The president, in a message posted in Twitter, highlighted the work of the members of the Amarb in defending the integrity of the national territory.

'208 years ago the first Naval School was created in Venezuela, now @AMARB_Oficial. I congratulate the staff of this Alma Mater, forger of worthy and honorable men and women of the sea always alert to guarantee peace and sovereignty of the Homeland', he wrote.

For his part, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, also highlighted the work of this institution for over two centuries.

'More than 200 years forging ladies and gentlemen of the sea, always having God and the Homeland as guiding beacons; only in this way will we maintain our course even in the most difficult storms', wrote the Minister in the social media.

The Amarb is a military institute with the mission to train naval cadets through a comprehensive program with solid principles of leadership, ethical values, morals, sense of responsibility and belonging.

The higher education center, formerly known as the Venezuelan Naval School, has a long history in the country and throughout the continent, considered the oldest training center for naval officers in America.
