Caracas, May 22 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela is facing serious obstacles to save the lives of children

through government programs, as a consequence of coercive policies by the United States, Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza denounced.

In a message on Twitter, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy assured that the blockade of the state-owned company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) prevents to continue treating patients who underwent transplants in Argentina.

'The US criminal financial blockade of Venezuela risks the lives of Venezuelan children who underwent transplants in Argentina, thanks to PDVSA's support. It has been impossible to transfer the resources for them to continue their treatment,' Arreaza wrote.

For his part, Health Minister Carlos Alvarado explained that the measures taken by the Donald Trump administration resulted in blocking the necessary payments to acquire medicines and inputs for the sector.

That makes it more difficult to access goods and raw materials to provide medical care to the Venezuelan people, Alvarado denounced at the 72nd World Health Assembly.

In two European banks alone, Venezuela has more than 2.5 billion euros that have been frozen, in addition to the illegal appropriation of the company Citgo on US territory, with which the country funded bone marrow transplants for Venezuelan children.
