Caracas, Sep 6 (Prensa Latina) More than 3,000 men and women from the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB) are deployed this Friday along the border with Colombia, announced Freddy Bernal, protector of the state of Tachira.

A commission led by Bernal and border Constituent Assembly member, William Parada, assessed the conditions in the area 48 hours after President Nicolas Maduro declared an alert in the region, given the possibility of an attack from the neighboring country, according to reports from the Protectorate's press office.

The high-ranking Bolivarian official reaffirmed that Colombia is trying to create false positives to destabilize Venezuela and said, 'It's just one more tension, we won't reach any kind of conflict. Unfortunately, this year has been very tough in Tachira, because of the repeated aggressions on the part of Mike Pence, Marco Rubio, Mike Pompeo, Donald Trump.'

Military exercises are scheduled to begin September 10, with demonstrations of the different components, he added.

Bernal stressed, 'it is an exercise for peace, for Venezuela to be respected. To say that we are not willing to be a colony (...) we have the highest quality technological anti-missile system in Latin America, that we have already deployed and in due course details will be given about this exercise.'
