Moscow, Oct 6 (Prensa Latina) The president of the State Duma (Russian Lower House), Viacheslav Volodin, rejected this Sunday the provocation orchestrated by the government of the United States, after submitting deputy Inga Yumasheva to an interrogation when arriving to that country.

This is a cynical provocation by Washington. Undoubtedly, in the northern country there are forces eager to deteriorate bilateral ties, said the parliamentarian, quoted by Sputnik.

Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation questioned the Russian legislator upon her arrival at New York airport, where she was to attend the Fort-Ross Dialogue forum, the source said.

After the incident, the Russian embassy in the US sent a protest note to the US State Department.

The incident happens after Washington denied visas to at least 10 members of the Russian delegation that had to attend the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, arguing technical problems and late delivery of documents.

According to local television, the U.S. government still holds the passports of U.S. deputies and government officials who did not receive a U.N. visa.

Moscow proposes, as a first step, to move the U.N. committee on disarmament issues to another city, rather than to session in New York, considering that the White House is breaking its commitments to the 1947 agreement on the status and functioning of the United Nations.

Russia considers the United States showed total disregard for the norms of international law and the provisions of the UN Charter in the case of the refusal of visas , in addition to not fulfilling the commitments undertaken by becoming the headquarters of that organization.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also clarified that it reserves the right to respond to the White House action and reiterated that the visa dispute was initiated by the northern country.

Washington applied more than 70 packages of sanctions against this state since 2014, under the most dissimilar pretexts such as interference in American affairs, Ukraine, the case of the exagent Serguei Skripal, in the United Kingdom or aid to Syria.
