Santiago, Chile, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) New marches in several cities and the Government's lobbying with opposition political parties characterize the protests in Chile, 14 days after an unprecedented popular outbreak to demand deep changes in the country.

On Thursday, the first of four-day holidays, Interior Minister Gonzalo Blumel met with the presidents of opposition parties to find a solution to the deep social and political crisis that has put the Government against the ropes with hundreds of thousands of demonstrators who have taken to the streets throughout the country. Blumel described the meeting at La Moneda Palace as positive, and noted that 'as Government we are implementing a process of broad dialogue that is underway and is important to fulfill this process before making more definite decisions.'

Those definite decisions refer to the drawing up of a new Constitution, a recurrent demand by the demonstrators that is not among the Sebastian Piñera Government's plans.

In the afternoon, this capital and other cities staged demonstrations and marches, which were repressed by the special forces of the Carabineers with water and tear gas.
