World left-wing states commitment with unity and struggle against Imperialism

Representatives from more than 700 political organizations, movements, and left-wing parties gathered in Havana, committed today and decided to face the imperial surge with more unity and concrete actions for the sake of defending the fair causes of people.

Delegates attending the Anti-Imperialist Meeting of Solidarity, for Democracy, and against Neoliberalism pointed out the exhaustion the conservative right-wing and said people are proving it is possible to defeat the imperial offensive.

Times of hopes are coming and unity is paramount as it is a duty. Mobilization is the watchword and an imminent task. Integration is essential to achieve victory.

The final statement of the event approves a declaration of solidarity with Cuba and call to action in permanent and systematic actions as part of the international campaign Hands off Cuba.

The lifting of the escalated, criminal, and genocidal blockade imposed by the U.S. on Cuba was demanded, and supported the resolution that will be presented at the UN calling for the end of such policy.

The statement denounces threats and aggressions against sovereign governments refusing to knee before hegemonic powers and ratifies Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

The statement also expresses solidarity with the Bolivarian and Chavist Revolution and ratifies the mobilization for the immediate release of former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Defend the decision of the Chilean people to protest on the streets against government’s anti-popular and repressive policies, and condemns the use of torture, rape, mutilation and death of Chilean citizens at the hands of the repressive organizations of the country, and the repression in Ecuador to a people suffering a neoliberal package.

Rejects the pro-imperialist government of Jair Bolsonaro, responding to Washington’s interests, and bent on reverting the democratic progress in Brazil.

It also supports the right of the Colombian people to peace, and calls to the dialogue between the government and the National Liberation Army.

It expresses solidarity with the Haitian people, in their fight for social justice and a dignified life, and expresses support for the struggle of the Honduran people and its legitimate claims.

The text greets the Mexican government and its contribution to the unity of Latin America and the Caribbean, the respect for non-intervention and peace in the region, and supports the historical cause of the Saharawi and Palestinian peoples, for their right to self-determination.

The delegates of the meeting denounced the interference of imperialism in the domestic affairs of several countries under the so-called crusade against terrorism.
