These threats, which led to a judicial inquiry which started in July 2010, led to the arrest of the main suspect, Farouk Ben Abbes, but the case was later given an inactive status and did not result in taking any safety measures, according to the paper, which said that even the owners of the Bataclan hall were not informed.

Ben Abbes is close to the French jihadist Fabien Clain, who claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks on behalf of the Islamic State.

The origins of the information about the threat against the theater is an bomb attack in Cairo on Feb. 22, 2009, where a French teenager died and 24 others were wounded.

Egyptian police arrested several suspects, among them the French woman Dude Hoxha, who was extradited to France.

She then told French secret service agents that Ben Abbes intended to blow up the Bataclan because its owner was Jewish and financed the Israeli army.
